Profile
Graham Southwell has been living in New Zealand since 1998, having emigrated from the UK.
He is a registered psychotherapist with a Master’s degree in Psychotherapy from AUT University in Auckland. He is also an Internal Family Systems (IFS) Level 1 trained therapist and a trained Induced After-Death Communication (IADC) therapist. Graham is currently in private practice in Titirangi, West Auckland. His previous experience includes working with Auckland Sexual Health, followed by eight years at Dove Hospice and two years with The Grief Centre.
Graham works from a modern property surrounded by native bush in the heart of Titirangi. He offers sessions both in person and online during normal working hours, with early evening appointments also available.
Much of his experience is centred around grief and loss, including loss through suicide. He understands that grief, particularly around end-of-life experiences, can be deeply challenging—often prompting questions about meaning, values, and beliefs. Graham provides a warm, safe, and non-judgmental space where clients can gently explore their loss, supporting healing and the process of rebuilding life. He considers this work to be his life’s calling and welcomes the opportunity to support those who feel ready.
Please note that if your grief is connected to loss by suicide, you may be entitled to fully funded sessions.
