Anna Drijver has a warm, calm and caring presence. She is experienced and open to working with clients of all gender, age and backgrounds and ethnicities. She speaks Dutch and English fluently. She is originally from The Netherlands and has been living in New Zealand since 1992.
Anna has been working in psychotherapy private practice since 2003. Her consultation room is in Northcote, North Shore, Auckland.
She offers sessions in-person and on-line. The combination of psychodynamic therapy with somatic modalities and EMDR as well as meditation practices opened Anna’s therapy to facilitating deep grief processing. The step to IADC was a welcome opportunity to add a guided, researched modality to support clients through grief and sadness. She experienced that grief and loss often prompt questions about meaning, values, and beliefs for clients and IADC can be particularly helpful here.
Anna is a registered psychotherapist with a Master’s degree in Psychotherapy from AUT University in Auckland. Over her 23 years as a psychotherapist, she has trained in many modalities including psychodynamic, EMDR, CBT, MBT, DBT, somatic movement, couples therapy, group analytic training and Induced After Death Communication (IADC). Her experience includes grief work in different settings such as Private Practice, North Shore Women Centre, ADHB Eating Disorders services, ADHB Mental Health specialist services Segar House-RauAroha. She also regularly facilitates group work and retreats for clients with ACC contracts.
